I’m driven by a simple purpose: to make technology amplify human potential and simplify complexity. My career has been about turning that belief into outcomes — delivering more than $50B in business impact across healthcare, retail, telecom, financial services, and technology.
Today, as Founder & Chief Product & Technology Officer of TalAiro, I’m building an AI-driven talent intelligence platform designed to make workforce decisions nimble, scalable, and impactful. Our mission is to help enterprises, agencies, and HR teams match people to opportunity with clarity and speed — shaping the future of work.
Previously, as Chief Digital Product Officer at Optum (UnitedHealth Group), I scaled digital transformation across 92 business units, driving $15B in growth and $100M in efficiencies while simplifying healthcare for more than 100M consumers. Before that, at AT&T and Macy’s, I led omni-channel and personalization initiatives that scaled revenues by billions, modernized infrastructure, and built global teams of 1,500+.
What defines my work is the ability to orchestrate across four dimensions:
Growth: Creating new revenue streams, consumer platforms, and markets.
Efficiency: Driving automation, AI adoption, and modernization.
Experience: Designing journeys that win loyalty with consumers and employees.
Leadership: Building resilient teams, shaping culture, and aligning C-suites.
At my core, I believe technology should serve people — and leadership should leave a legacy measured not just in results, but in the futures we build.

In this episode, we’re joined by Karthik Viswanathan. Formerly a product leader at AT&T, Macy’s, and Optum, he’s now the founder of TalAiro, an HR tech startup that is rethinking the operating system for recruiting.
Karthik argues that the hidden failure of the modern tech stack is forcing the user to serve as a “manual integration layer. He explains how the push to "unbundle" features results in a “Chaos Tax”— consuming 40-60% of the workday with fighting disconnected tools rather than doing their jobs.
Beyond that, Karthik also discusses:
- How AI can make work more human: Why the true value isn't in replacing jobs, but automating the "devil's cut" of administrative work.
- The journey from enterprise leader to founder: What building TalAiro from scratch taught Karthik about prioritization after years of leading enterprise product orgs, such as focusing on the 20% of workflows that drive 80% of the value
